Engr. Gunasagaran Kristnan MIEM, PEng graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA in 1984. He obtained his Professional Engineer status in 1989. Engr. Gunasagaran had worked in the government service for 2 years in the Drainage and Irrigation Department in Kuala Lumpur. He is currently a Managing Director of a construction company specializing in infrastructure works in Kuala Lumpur. He also specializes in roads, retaining wall, drainage and sub-structure works.

Engr. Gunasegaran MIEM, PEng is an active member of IEM. He is currently serving as Council Member for the sessions 2003/2004/2005. Apart from serving the Council, Engr. Gunasagaran is also an active Committee Member for the Standing Committee in Examinations and Training, the Sub Committee on Log Book Scheme and also the Project Management Technical Division of the Institution.
